Discover the Best Erotica Authors

I'd like to dedicate this post to the brilliant Gina Kincade, my publisher at Naughty Nights Press, who believed in me and let the world see my writing in Campus Sexploits 3: Naughty Tales of Wild Girls in College and Campus Sexploits 4: Sex with Foreign Exchange Students.

Liz Adams

Liz Adams, author of fairy tale erotica

What are you working on?

I'm finishing an erotic version of a Wonder Woman. What if Wonder Woman's daughter were a foreign exchange student in St. Petersburg, Russia? Ariel is a young woman with super powers, out to get revenge for her father's murder. The only problem? A huge distraction. The father of her host family wants to have his way with Ariel, and she's tempted not to resist.

How does you erotica differ from other erotica?

I stick to fairy tales and mythology with all my favorite characters, and see how their love lives could be like. I call it "hands-on fairy tales." But most of all, I believe the story is the most important part of the book. That's why I like to fill my erotica with plot twists and surprises.

Why do you write erotica?

I'm a member of Romance Writers of America and when I visited the local chapter, where I got to meet the great Jasmine Haynes, some local members stood and announced their successes. Tina Folsom announced how she made over half a million book sales in the past year, and Bella Andre announced how she had made over a million book sales. The gorgeous lady sitting next to me, Beth Barany, whispered that they wrote erotic romance. (Note: These days Bella Andre and Tina Folsom write romance, not erotica or erotic romance) I decided I needed to try writing erotica!

How does your writing process work?

I like to choose some of my favorite fairy tales and imagine what the typical erotic version of the story might be like. Then I completely go a different route. I realize I need to fulfill my readers' expectations, but I also don't want to be predictable. For example, making an erotic version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears immediately suggests a woman will have a foursome with three strong men. I had two problems with that. One, foursomes can quickly erase any trace of intimacy, so I wanted Goldilocks to sleep with the three men separately, not all at once. Two, such a story would be predictable. In my erotic version of Goldilocks--Goldie's Locks and the Three Men--I completely changed the story in a way that gave it a HUGE surprise twist at the end. And, not to ruin the readers' expectations, I included a scene where Goldie finds a Penthouse magazine with a photo spread of Goldilocks having sex with three buff men in bear outfits. So I like to find ways of flipping the fairy tale on his head so that my readers can be surprised to see what's under his kilt. But we know what's under his kilt, right? Speaking of batons, it's time for me to pass it on. Check out these mouth-watering writers!

Campus Sexploits 3: Naughty Tales of Wild Girls in CollegeTanith Davenport

Tanith first started writing seriously when her tutor in a creative writing course pointed her towards the Romantic Novelists' Association and their New Writers' Scheme. Thanks to them, her debut novel The Hand He Dealt was accepted by Total-e-Bound in 2011 and was nominated for the Joan Hessayon Award for 2012. She hasn't stopped writing since. Her short story "Assume the Position" was accepted for Campus Sexploits 3: Naughty Tales of Wild Girls in College with Naughty Nights Press. When not writing, she loves to read historical fiction and non-fiction as well as anything paranormal. She loves to sing, watch horror movies and go to rock concerts. She also have two cats who like to hide all day and then destroy the house at night.

Don't Call Me Baby by Elizabeth BlackElizabeth Black

Elizabeth writes erotic romance, erotica, and horror. Her stories include delicious fairy tale erotica, (I highly recommend her fairy tale erotica!) including Trouble in Thigh High Boots (An erotic version of Puss in Boots), and Climbing Her Tower (An erotic version of Rapunzel). She received a Night Owl Top Pick award for her novel Don't Call Me Baby, a Naughty Nights Press publication. She lives with her husband, son, and four cats on the Massachusetts coast smack in the middle of Lovecraft country.

Flash Fiction

E. A. Black writer dark fiction and horror. Elizabeth Black writes erotica and erotic romance. You may find E. A. on her Amazon Author Page, and you may find Elizabeth at her Amazon Author Page. She is available on Facebook and Twitter as well.

I would love to see some of my flash fiction published. I nearly succeeded with Daily Science Fiction, a very good setup that publishes very short fiction. My story is called "The Care And Feeding Of Your Pet Dragon". It hasn't been accepted yet, but I'm still working on it to make sure it eventually is accepted.

Flash fiction is works of approximately 1,000 words or less. I've tried my hand at it for fun and it's quite the exercise. Not a single word is wasted and you don't waste time on extemporaneous speech. Some flash fiction is only two sentences. Here are some examples of scary two sentence flash fiction shorts that really creeped me out. Can you beat them?
I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me, "Daddy, check for monsters under my bed." I look underneath for his amusement and see him, another him, under the bed, staring back at me quivering and whispering, "Daddy, there's somebody on my bed." The last thing I saw was my alarm clock flashing 12:07 before she pushed her long rotting nails through my chest, her other hand muffling my screams. I sat bolt upright, relieved it was only a dream, but as I saw my alarm clock read 12:06, I heard my closet door creak open. After working a hard day, I came home to see my girlfriend cradling our child. I didn't know which was more frightening, seeing my dead girlfriend and stillborn child, or knowing that someone broke into my apartment to place them there.
I hope you enjoyed the flash fiction scary stories. As most people who know me know, I enjoy dark fiction and horror very much. I've written erotic horror. That said, there are also some good flash fiction romances out there. One good site is Romance Flash. Some of the stories are quite good.

So why not give flash fiction a try? It's a great writing exercise. You'll learn to be succinct very quickly.

Part 1: Favourite Paranormal Creatures

So BLMorticia recently talked about one of her favourite spots on a guy. Ok, it was a couple months ago but time flies so fast that it feels fairly recent still.

Back on track. It got me thinking; her main genre is erotica, and that is a fairly erotic spot, that V over the hips. My main genre is paranormal, so why not talk about something that I love from the paranormal world.

Well, it was too hard for me to pick one, so over the coming months I'll be talking a little about my favourite paranormal creatures. I'm kicking it off with my namesake, the Phoenix.

We all know the basic mythology. The fiery bird with a long life that bursts into flames and is reborn from the ashes. A beautiful metaphor, I felt drawn to the Phoenix when I started writing again.

I had become filled with melancholy, and a large part of it stemmed from my lack of creativity. In most part, I had given up hope of writing any story at all, let alone having other people read it. But I was encouraged to give it another shot, and that spark soon grew into a roaring fire, giving me new purpose for me, as my own person, and I flew with it.

It's an obvious paranormal creature to appreciate, but that doesn't make it any less beautiful and mysterious. There is the obvious tale of being reborn from fire, and it certainly is more glamorous than some alternative theories.

It has always been shown with a nimbus with rays around its head, like the Greek God
Helios, or to have wonderful plumage on it's head, or even compared to a rooster with a large crest. There are many thoughts on the exact colouring, from that of a peacock to the red and yellow associated with the fire from which it gains new life in the popular myth, and the sun which it is said to represent in others.

It's one of those creatures that are featured in the cultural, artistic and religious history of many countries, each giving it their own flavour, their own twist.

Whatever this bird looks like or represents to the person imagining it, what we can agree on is that it is a wonderful metaphor, and I would personally love to see more stories incorporate this noble, if mythological, feathered creature.

I'm not quite sure which creature I'll talk about next week, but I promise I will have some sexy pictures next time. *wink*

Phoenix Johnson is an Australian author who has always had the passion for the written word. She had her nose in at least one book ever since she could read and would even scrutinize the back of the cereal box every morning at breakfast. It was only natural she take up writing.
After reviewing a few delicious titles for Naughty Nights Press as she wrote her first titleThe Wolf in the Neighborhood, Phoenix was of one mind to submit it to NNP, and she hasn't looked back. She feels that being invited to write for the NNP blog is a great honour, and loves being part of the team!

New Release from Gemma Parkes!

Hi Everyone, today I would like to tell you about my latest release! 'Fevered Kisses' is an erotic anthology containing six new stories each with their own special tale to tell:

Between The Pages:

A notebook carelessly left in a café brings a new lease of life to Alice. What will she do with the information she discovers inside? Some things are worth trying out for ourselves!

Too Darn Hot:

Miranda Briggs is a successful dance instructor who occasionally wants to share the trappings of her success with lithe, young men. When the sun is blazing down who can resist the allure of an outside pool?

Anytime, Anyplace:

Sometimes lust can catch us at the most unsuitable of times and sometimes it’s almost exactly what we planned. Either way when passion calls everything else takes second place.

Amber Nugent was a beautiful, passionate, predatory female who sought out thrills after dark with dangerous determination. How many lovers will it take to satisfy her overwhelming need?

Some Time Away:

Melanie is tired of her busy existence. When a traffic jam pushes her over the edge she heads straight for the airport. Will she discover who she really is and what it will take to make her happy?

Just Imagine:

Emma has only one thing on her mind, Paul. Every day she works alongside him as she battles to control the daydreams that see them both naked in a dance of lust, does Paul even know that she exists?

Excerpt (Anytime, Anyplace):

I was reminded of other people in the restaurant when the waiter reached for my empty starter dish. He raised an eyebrow when my lustful gaze crossed his face as l pulled it away from Shaun’s.
The main course arrived. Though my appetite was distracted by my lover’s lips once again tasting the wine.
I lifted a forkful of food and sampled the explosion of flavour.
“This salsa is lovely.” I declared.
“I would like to see you salsa,” Shaun replied, “Preferably naked.”
I laughed but then he leaned forward and lowered his voice to a husky whisper,
“Dance for me baby, l want to watch you, l really do.”
“I don’t know how to salsa.” I spoke as quietly as him.
“Just take your clothes off and move around, l want you to.”
His eyes bore through me and l shivered in anticipation of them feasting on my body as l writhed before him, suddenly all my hunger was in a different part of my body.
“Getting a little uncomfortable?” Shaun teased.
I was beginning to think it hadn’t been my best idea to leave the panties at home as l shifted a little in my seat and tried not to watch the food slipping into that sensual mouth to be turned and churned by that very capable tongue. My breathing became a little laboured and Shaun lowered his eyes to my breasts which were rising and falling more obviously than usual as l tried to breathe deeper and relax.
“I need to get you out of that dress.” Shaun purred.
I nodded.
“Here Baby, try this.” Shaun held a forkful of chicken and l leaned in to take it from him. A slow moan escaped me as the fusion of fine spices melted across the surface of my tongue.
“It’s so good.” I purred.
Shaun shifted and his expression grew darker.

Excerpt (Insatiable):

In the evenings Amber would take a bus into the next town. She would dress up in slinky evening dresses that would hug her enviable figure and show off her long legs.
Amber would sit alone in swanky wine bars waiting to be approached. This would never take long; sometimes she would time how long it took just for her own satisfaction. The feeling of so many male eyes following the contours of her body thrilled her so much that excitement pricked at her tawny skin. Occasionally she would glance back at a group of curious men to encourage them with a shy smile. It was always the alpha male in the group who would approach her first, the brave, confident man. Though every now and then Amber hankered after the shyest member of the group she rarely waited for his approach.
The game would begin; she would be bought a drink and then flattered relentlessly while her brave suitor’s friends looked on enviously. Amber would tease her prey, making him believe that it was he who was the predator. More drinks would follow, though Amber would never go beyond three. Compliments would be whispered into her ear behind the sparkling diamond earrings that were a gift from a grateful lover. His body would move closer until warmth began to seep into her skin through her receptive pores. Amber would gaze up and listen to every word, how beautiful her eyes were, how silky her hair and how stunning she looked in her clingy dress.
All these compliments nourished Amber; she needed them constantly and she would look up adoringly into the earnest face of the man standing so close that their bodies would be touching. Her lovers never missed their cue. When Amber flashed her eyes and lightly touched an arm there would be no need to clarify unspoken words. They would leave the building together to incredulous, covetous glances from the bereft friends.

Inspiration for Under the Gun, series Hardy and Day

David Taylor Camdyn Hardy
Hey again folks. This is resident bad girl BL with exciting news about my next book, Under the Gun. WOOT.

So, if you’ve been following the muses of Sharita Lira, then you know this was Michael Mandrake’s story. Yeah, I know, right? The first story where Michael really pushes the envelope.

Well unfortunately, the company that pubbed UTG folded and when Shar decided to re-release, she turned it over to me. Yep, me since I am the bad girl and this is more my type of thing. You know what I like to write so a story with two hot men looking for love along with strange kinks should appeal.Hell yes it does and so here I am since G decided to gave UTG a chance once again.

So what exactly is Under the Gun? It’s an interracial m/m romance about a two men who come from different paths but find out just how much they have in common. Malik Day is a discharged soldier under the now defunct DADT policy while Camdyn Hardy is a private investigator who just lost his lover when he decided homosexuality wasn’t for him.
Tyson Beckford Malik Day

Michael got the idea from a sub call he answered and well, they didn’t accept it. Thank goodness Michael stuck with the idea and Malik and Cam got a much longer story. Ooh and then a series. Yep, this will be three or four books. Michael wrote the first two and I’ll be adding my own little special touches. With the last ones, it will be all BL. Nice to share one head right? *giggles* Ah we work Shar to death!

So what music did Michael use to write this? Since the story is a romance with two very interesting characters; both headstrong, stubborn, proud, and alpha, he chose some metal. Some Sevendust and Ministry for the angst, some Nine Inch Nails. For the calmer and more tension filled moments, Depeche Mode. For the love scenes, some smooth R&B like Sade. For the kinky portion, back to NIN and he says Sanctified was the tune.

Michael described the tone as seductive with an edge. He added it put him in a particularly interesting mood for the whole book as well as every sexy encounter with Cam and Malik.

Oh and the faces he picked? Jeezus, could they get any cuter! Wow. Former porn star David Taylor and hot model Tyson Beckford. Yummeh! I think they look good together, don’t you?

Look for Under the Gun sometime this year.

Warning: Gun Play and hot sex between two men ahead. A previously published work written before the DADT repeal.

Life can be such a bitch

After Tay left me for a woman, there was no question I needed relief. I decided to let off some steam at the driving range and look who I find; a hot looking soldier ready for battle and what I wouldn’t do to be in the trenches with him but could I get over the trust issues I had to get this beautiful specimen in my bed?
I’m Camdyn Hardy and the man I’m after is Malik Day, a soldier discharged under the DADT policy for defending a fellow gay soldier when homophobic fucks were trying to beat his ass. He’s looking for a job and a lover.  He’s just the right fit if you ask me but will he get over his stupid pride so he can move from under his bible thumping parent’s roof to mine?

This is our fucking lives and we’re standing in the way of our own happiness!

Some days are better than others and most could be a hell of a lot better, but when you get into a fight with your significant of the moment, what else can be done? I wished we could’ve avoided it but, there was no way to do so.
When my boyfriend and I worked on a case together we almost slipped up because of our encounter on the job. It was at my insistence too which made it even worse. Our client wasn’t amused when he literally caught us with our pants down and almost fired us from the case. Still, we got the job done. My man continued to tell me to wait until we were safe and out of sight but my horniness wouldn’t allow it.
After the episode, Tay started to have second thoughts about our relationship. Seemingly, he thought we lost focus by working with one another and we should split up. I shook my head and told him it wasn’t a good reason but he vehemently disagreed about us going on with this work/play scenario.
Even though I promised I’d be more of a good boy he decided to move on, and left every tie to Camdyn & Associates behind. I knew he still loved me, but I heard from mutual friends that Tay was on the fence again, spending a lot of time with a female. I’d been preparing myself for my down low lover to take a hike so when he walked out, it wasn’t a surprise. This taught me not to deal with anyone unsure about their sexuality ever again. I needed someone totally real and gay like me.
With my hands tightly gripping the wheel, I drove away from my office and made the sharp turn at the corner to enter the freeway. Anger building inside of me, I needed to press or push something to release some of the tension. The gas pedal was the only option. When I got on I floored it, quickly approaching eighty. With my foul mood, I dared someone to pull me over.
How would I dispel these ill feelings? I knew of one way but it wasn’t in my best interest to go murdering someone when was a man of the law. The other option was sex. Getting it from a down low fuck club I had lifetime membership to called the Pinkhole. I really could have settled for an anonymous lay but they wouldn’t want to play that game I loved to play with Tay; the forbidden one that carried all kinds of risks. Let’s just say it involved our affinity of guns, violence, and rough sex. How did we mix a weapon into our down low union? You’ll have to use your imagination to figure that out.

Within a few minutes, I made it home. It felt good to be there after such a menacing day. “What am I so upset for?” This would be a great time to start looking for a new partner in life and business. Tay and I loved each other but weren’t in love. There was always that rift between us that couldn’t be broken down and now that he’d left me, I needed to find another man who wouldn’t have the same hang-ups.

Averting Disaster - Back Up Your Files!

I had a miserable week because I decided to try to "fix" my computer and ended up breaking it beyond repair. Luckily, I backed up everything long beforehand. My computer is fixed now as of a few hours ago after being out of commission for over a week, hence this very short blog post. Here is my message:

Back Up Your Files!

1. Have a backup set up on a flash drive, separate server, zip discs, or other physical means.

2. Email yourself important documents as you work on them. Your email will preserve your work.

3. If you have access to the Cloud, use it.

4. Email your stuff to a close, trusted friend to keep it for you in case something horrid happens and you lose it.

5. Use a backup service if you wish but I don't really think it's necessary. It's also an added expense.

I'm lucky that I already back up everything like crazy. This mess could have been a real tragedy if I hadn't. My brief post is a friendly reminder to back up your documents and such to avoid losing valuable material.

Writer's Block Sucks

Writer’s Block. We’ve all heard of it. Heck, we’ve probably all had it, regardless of whether or not we’re a writer. Maybe we’ve experienced it trying to write a report at work, or for a school assignment. Maybe in trying to write up a grocery list.

As an author and university student, I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve had writer’s block. Sometimes it only lasts a few hours. Usually, though, it’ll last weeks. Not at all conducive to getting many books written. Unfortunately, I'm neck deep in writer's block at the moment. Took me about two hours just to write this blog post!

There are many things can cause writer’s block. Stress is a large part of it, which has many causes of its own. Money, work, personal or family issues often get in the way of stress-free lives.

So what do you do when stress puts up walls that prevent you from writing?

Well, you could cut yourself off from everything and become a hermit. There are a few famous authors, and even painters, that shut themselves off to the world to focus on their craft.

Usually these days, however, that isn’t an option. Bills need paying, and family and friends are less likely to allow you to become a hermit. Believe me, I’ve tried!

So rather than trying to shut out everything that can cause writer’s-block-inducing-stress, instead try taking a time out; just a few minutes throughout the day to relax and take deep breaths. Close your eyes if you need to. Let your imagination start meandering through a peaceful scene, and you’ll be surprised just how quickly your writer’s block departs.

Another way to beat it is to just start writing. Let your mind wander like just mentioned, but write it down while it happens. Pretty soon, you’ll be making awesome progress, and as Stephen King once said when asked how he writes, “One word at a time.”

Making that effort every day to just write something, even if it’s just a list of groceries, or reminders of things to research or appointments to keep, questions to ask; it makes no difference of the what. It only matters that you write.

Limiting distractions also helps, so try to avoid social media. Goodness knows I've lost hours on Facebook. So close that Internet tab and write!

Who Is Gemma Parkes?

From an early age English was my favourite subject. I am in love with the written word and hugely influenced by Shakespeare, Dickens and D. H. Lawrence. I appreciate peace and quiet when l write. I couldn’t possibly listen to music as l would focus on the instruments instead of my work. My day to day life slows down my creativity as it is often impossible (at the moment) for me to close myself off.
I have been writing all my life but have only specialised in Erotic fiction since 2011. I live a peaceful, but busy life in rural England. I have a beautiful view from my windows and as a result l tend to stare out and get distracted when l should be writing. Having said that, my garden can, on occasion, inspire me. My writing routine is not as organised as l would like it to be. Perhaps if l had a cleaner, cook and shopper l could devote more time. I would imagine this is the same for all my writing colleagues.
Writing in this genre brings with it a level of animosity which causes many of us, including myself, to hide behind a pseudonym. My family and friends know what genre l write in, but they do not know my pen name.
I am a freelance author who self publishes a large chunk of my work. This is because l enjoy the process of self publishing, it has its disadvantages of course, the editing which falls on my shoulders alone and the search for a cover design. I do send work to publishers and have many anthology inclusions (see below). I have been extremely happy with the publishers l have dealt with and am very proud to be associated with them and lucky enough to be included in anthologies bearing their name. I would like to write something longer than a novella and intend working on that some time in the future. For me though, short stories are so much fun to write and l love the variety and freedom it gives me.
I describe myself as a storyteller, l like to tell sexy stories about ordinary people. I don’t like being tied to one sub genre as my mind is always full of new situations and experiences.
I sympathise with some of my characters and of course, much of my opinion and emotion comes out throughout my writing. Do l have a favourite? I like Scott from ‘Pleasing Mia’. He is a really nice guy! The whole story is about His love for the seemingly unattainable Mia and we follow Scott through a multitude of emotion and self doubt.

On a weekend visit to a local nightclub, Scott, a quiet, good looking man, sets eyes on a beautiful girl dancing with complete abandonment on the dance floor. Everybody is watching her, though she seems oblivious to any attention she is receiving. The girl (Mia) is simply lost in the music.
When eventually circumstances lead her to succumb to his quiet charm Scott discovers Mia’s wild sexual nature is not restricted to the dance floor. As he struggles to keep up with her sexual prowess and ever changing moods Scott discovers a side of himself that he had not deemed possible. Pleasing Mia is by no means an easy accomplishment. Will Scott succeed?

Sunlight beamed through the pale roller blind adorning Scott’s small bedroom window and cast a warm ray on to Mia’s golden hair. Scott woke sleepily and glancing down, noticed that they had hardly moved all night. Mia was still lying with her head on his chest. With her arm wrapped around him, she looked just like a sleeping angel.
Scott glanced across to the alarm clock. It showed 8:30a m. He wondered briefly if she had to go to work and realised once again that he still knew very little about her. He wanted to make her coffee but knew that to do that he would have to disturb her. Right now he was happy to reflect in the brilliant shine her hair was affording him, mirrored only by the glow within his soul. Lifting his head he kissed the top of hers, tenderly. Mia stirred, and began to stroke his soft chest hair with her small hand. He could feel his morning erection and longed to reach down to stroke against it with a lazy but determined hand. There was no need, Mia had already found it and ran her fingers the full length of him. He groaned deeply as his cock twitched with appreciation.
“Good morning baby.” Scott murmured.
Her reply was a slow smile followed by her head lowering beneath the sheets towards her hand which was still gripping him tightly.
“Oh!” he gasped as her lips wrapped around him sliding him deep into her mouth.

BLMorticia Interviews Michael Mandrake - ILIR Blogtour N'awlins Exotica

Good morning. Today my muses are playing together. Well okay, no not really but yes, BL is interviewing Michel Mandrake. And BL has some special news. Take it away muses.

* * * *

BL: Hey peeps. This is BL on NNP’s blog, interviewing brother muse Michael Mandrake, but before I bring him in a bit of news. *drum roll* My book Under the Gun, that ironically used to be Michael’s has been contracted by Naughty Nights Press. This book has a hot couple, Camdyn and Malik. Malik is a former soldier while Camdyn is a PI looking for love and a new partner. Together they make up Hardy and Day. This small novella series will feature the twosome on big cases while they make sexy, hot love. *licks lips* I’ll be filling you in some more as the time comes but lets bring in brother muse, Michael Mandrake.

*audience claps*

MM: *Michael walks in, dressed in a three piece suit and tie. Smiles at the camera.* Hi there BL. Thanks so much for having me.

BL: No prob bro. So tell us about I Love it Rough, the sequel to I Like Em Pretty.

MM: Well, as you said, it is a continuation of Kajika and Frankie’s story, set in New Orleans about two men getting together after a tragic event occurs. This tale is a follow-up into their relationship but I add some suspense, murder, and some sexual tension that makes this book in my opinion better than the first. Its not a romance, more like a mystery, complete with a serial killer, unrest between the characters and of course Kajika himself who is also entertaining.

BL: Yes he is. He’s a piece of work. I caught his interview a few days ago. And what about the surprise you have planned?

MM: Well, I have a couple. One might not make some people too happy but the other should bring a smile to fans of Ryland and Ryder Durand. They’re making an appearance in this story. How do I do it? You’ll have to read to find out. *winks*

*Audeience oohs and aahs*

BL: Wow, bro. You sure you don’t want to give us a sneak peek?

MM: No, I can’t BL. Then it would take away a big part of the story.

BL: *pouts* Alright then Well tell us more about the series and how me an Rawiya fit into this.

MM: *smiles* Well you’re taking over the very spicy Kenina Porter
BL's book #3 Hell Hath No Fury

*audience boos*

MM: *Michael’s eyes widen* Now, now, Kenina is very nice. She just needs some TLC. BL is going to give her a great story too. She’s a woman scorned. And then you’re writing book 4 which will be Orrin’s story.

BL: Oh yeah, Orrin is the goods. *rubs hands together*

MM: And then Rawiya takes over book 5 with Naomi, then back to me with book 6. And actually you’ll be the first to know that there might be a book seven. I haven’t really made up my mind but another character in this series needs some TLC as well.

BL: Ooh, well I’m looking forward to it Michael. Kenina is a gal after my own heart. Now, last question, how would you summarize the N’awlins Exotica series in one word?

MM: *blinks* Just one? I’ll go for, saucy. *laughs* That’s the best way I can put it. Its exotic, erotic, chaotic, it’s… all of these and more. It’s really a fun collection and Im glad we’re all working on it together.

BL: Great bro. Well thanks for stopping in and folks if you haven’t checked out this series, please do. It is a blast!

*Audience cheers*

Livin’ in N’awlins ain’t all that easy…

Kajika Fortier loves his job, the attention he gets from onlookers, and Frankie Choteau. However, his new partner’s jealousy, mood swings, and over protectiveness drives Kajika to the brink but at the same time, excites him to no end. To complicate things further, a murderer is on the loose looking for blood. All three of the killer’s victims are strippers which not only makes Frankie nervous about Kajika’s safety but leaves him questioning his love for being a homicide detective. Coupled with the stresses of cold cases as well as some fellow officers shunning him for coming out, Frankie is having second thoughts about staying in New Orleans. Despite the encouragement from Vance, Kenina, and Orrin as well as new chief Quinn Murray, Frankie is wondering if his life’s passion really is to catch the killers.

Will the new couple survive these new issues that impede their nearly perfect union? Or will the relationship fail, thus leaving Kajika alone and a target for New Orleans latest serial killer? Detective Choteau and Kajika’s commitment to one another is being tested in more ways than one and they only have one another to lean on.

Kajika stepped out of the tub, grabbing the towel nearby to dry off. He’d been looking forward to spending the night and the early part of the day with his man, but duty called, causing Frankie to run out the door without saying anything more than ‘I’m gone’ and ‘I love you’.

Damn job.

Sometimes Kajika wished Frankie worked a nine to five instead of the dreaded detective position he held at the police station. They hadn’t had much time with the workload being so large due to shortage of staff, and it affected their relationship more than Kajika would’ve liked. At first he thought he could handle it; the excitement of his hot homicide detective out in the streets solving murders. Such a dangerous career but with it came nice money and accolades. Although Kajika was scared to death of blood and dead bodies, he loved hearing about some of Frankie’s cases, including the more intriguing ones that had yet to be solved. Tonight though, he would’ve traded all that in for his Frankie to be by his side.

In bed with me, where he should be.

Kajika finished wiping down and wrapped himself in his terry cloth robe to get ready for bed. He’d thought about staying up and watching some television, hoping that Frankie might return sooner than later, but he knew the truth. When called in, detectives don’t make it back home within a couple of hours. More like a few hours, or even half the day, would pass before he’d see his man again. As long as he came home safe, Kajika would deal with the amount of hours he spent away from their warm bed in Kenner, Louisiana.
On the way to the bedroom, Kajika wrapped his hair in the towel, drying his long strands. He glanced at the clock on the wall and grimaced when he noticed the big and small hand hovering over the two.
“Shit. Now I know I won’t see you until breakfast.” Kajika clicked his teeth and stomped on the trail of rose petals, angered by their night being interrupted. He pushed their bedroom door closed and leaned against the wood. “Damnit. We haven’t done a whole lot other than late night cuddling, quickies in the bathroom or on the kitchen floor. I need more than that, Frankie…I need−”

A long buzz sounded from the dresser, and Kajika moved quickly to see who was calling.

Frankie, or at least Kajika hoped it was, calling him with the news he’d be returning home sooner than expected. Although farfetched, Kajika could still wish his husband to be back early. He gulped hard and said a little prayer before clicking the connect button. “Hello?”

Silence then a sigh. “Babe, it’s me… I… I got some real bad news to tell you, sweetheart, but I’d rather you hear it from me as opposed to anyone else.”

Kajika released a deep breath and shrugged. “Are you okay, love? Something bothering−”

“Naw, I’m good, boo, but−” Frankie stopped a moment and blew hard through the phone.

Kajika plopped on the bed and crossed his legs, wondering what the heck his man was talking about. Bad news? What could it possibly be? Kajika nibbled on his bottom lip while he toyed with the frayed threads on his housecoat. “What is it, lover?”

“Babe, the murder I got called in for was…” Frankie ceased speaking again and sounded a little choked up about it.

Kajika held his breath and blinked twice in succession. “Who Frankie? Come on, just spit it out, right…who…”

“Lana Miles, babe. Lana’s been strangled to death.” Frankie spoke quickly to get the words out.

Kajika stared straight ahead, and his heart caught in his chest. Oh my God! Unable to cope with what he’d just heard, he dropped his phone and immediately the tears welled under his eyelids. Lana? Oh my God, who killed her? She was a good person…she…

“Kajika? Babe, you there? You okay, love? Talk to me, honey.”
