This is a limited edition, and the steal-of-a-price is for a limited time featuring stories from award winning, bestselling authors.

For your reading pleasure, we'll be featuring each author with a story of her choice for the next few weeks. Some will include interviews, and all will include excerpts. Today's featured author is Alyssa Drake.

1.   Is there a common thread that runs through your books?
There are two themes which tend to creep into my writing.  The first is the above idea of a strong woman, not a shrew, but a woman who fights for what she believes in with her whole heart.  The second theme is the idea that each character’s motivation stems from a concept of love - love of money, love of power, loss of love, and even simply love itself.

2.   If money was of no concern, what would you envision as your perfect lifestyle? (where would you live, what would you do all day, etc.)
My perfect lifestyle is a tropical island, with no neighbors, and a boat anchored just off the dock.  I would eat freshly caught fish, swim in crystal blue oceans, and bonfire on the beach every night.  During the day, I would write (yes, even with all the money in the world).  Every few months, we’d pull anchor and sail to the coast, so we could visit the people we loved.  I would really enjoy a helicopter pad too, just because sometimes a boat just isn’t fast enough.

3.   Besides writing, what things are you most passionate about?
I am passionate about books in general: reading them, writing them, organizing them, and collecting signed paperbacks.  I also love football (the American kind), working with chocolate, and any holiday that involves decorating.

4.   Not limited to writing, what do you believe to be some of your greatest accomplishments so far?
Some of my greatest accomplishments are: getting my first two novels published, graduating college with a B.S. in Business and a minor in French, and raising three kids.

5.   Name a few of your favorites (colors, TV shows, movies, stars, songs, etc.)
Favorite color: blue-green (like the ocean)
Favorite smell: vanilla
Favorite food: pizza
Favorite drink: coffee (sugar and cream)
Favorite TV show: The Big Bang Theory
Favorite movie: Undercover Blues
Favorite quote: “How does one become a butterfly? You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” Trina Paulus
Favorite book(s): Pride & Prejudice, 1984, and Harry Potter
Song currently playing on my Pandora: Riot by Three Days Grace

Lose yourself in Wiltshire
Samantha Hastings lived a quiet, peaceful life on her family’s country estate. With no man to order her around and no stifling society rules to follow, she considered herself blessed. However, when her brother’s ship sinks during a short trip to France, Samantha receives a request from her sister-in-law to return to town and manage the late Earl’s finances. Suddenly thrust into society, Samantha faces an unfamiliar world and a pair of very familiar green eyes. Lord Benjamin Westwood never intended on following through with his rash promise to his best friend. Now, with Edward’s death, Benjamin becomes the unwilling guardian to Edward’s bratty little sister, who has grown up considerably since the last time they met. His intention to marry her off to the first available suitor is thwarted when he finds himself falling for Samantha’s unique demeanor. He lights upon the perfect plan; a marriage of convenience, giving him the opportunity to romance Samantha without distraction. However, when they discover Edward’s disappearance was due to foul play, Benjamin’s perfect plan begins to quickly unravel. Now, Samantha is in more danger than either of them realized and Benjamin is running out of time.

“Really,” Benjamin murmured thoughtfully, his eyes flickered over the young men roving hungrily on the sidelines.  “I do not think you know the first thing about men.”
“I do,” insisted Samantha.  She stopped dancing to place her hands firmly on her hips.  The childish pose brought a smile to Benjamin’s lips.
“Let me show you how much you do not know.  Shall we retire to the terrace; it is such a lovely night?”  Without waiting for a response, he grasped her wrist lightly and tugged her towards the open glass doors.  Samantha followed reluctantly.
The balcony, bathed in light from the ballroom, provided shadowy corners for couples seeking a little more privacy.  It was into one of these dim corners that Benjamin pulled Samantha, pushing her back against the ivy covered bricks.  Both his hands rested on the greenery, sufficiently trapping Samantha between his body and the wall.  He inhaled her scent, sweet like honeysuckle.
He moved closer, the heat from her body licked flames onto his skin.  Their breath intermingled, caressing two pairs of lips before escaping into the star-spattered sky.  His hips slid nearer, pressing into her with his unreleased desire.  One finger tipped her chin until she was forced to stare into his eyes.  The other hand moved behind her head, clasping her neck, just above the bodice.
“This,” he rumbled softly, their lips separated by mere centimeters, “is how a potential suitor might behave.  Can you handle this?”
“Yes,” she answered defiantly, her voice wavering.  She placed her hands on his chest, as if she were planning to shove him away.  However, she did not exert any pressure, nor did she move them; her hands remained splayed across his broad chest.
“And this?”  He inched closer, his lips brushing her in the barest of kisses.
“Yes,” Samantha managed to squeak out.
Benjamin kissed her again; lightly at first and then with increasing urgency.  He deepened the kiss, his body pressed against the full length of her.  His hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her against him.  Unconsciously they tightened their carnal hold.  His lips nibbled the corners of her mouth.  Urgently his tongue pushed past her lips, tasting her sweet breath.
“Mmmm,” her protest died under his assault.  Attempting to mirror his actions, she kissed him back, not as forcefully, but with the same passion and intensity he felt.  He wanted more of her.  He wanted to take her right here, on the balcony, in full view of every guest in attendance.  He needed to claim her as his, forever

Image Three (Blog Post) This is such a hard one for me! I write about so many that to pick one is such a difficult task, but it’s the challenge I’ve been set, so here goes. I think I’ll have to go with Shifters as I’ve been writing about them a lot lately, and I love my hot Wolves. They’re strong but also have flaws, like most of us, well mine do anyway. I know I have many. They are also loyal and will fight to the death to protect those they love. They also allow me to let my imagination run wild with their supernatural abilities, in essence, a writer’s dream. I enjoy describing their transformation, the sensations they experience in beast form, their attraction to their soulmate, and a host of other things. Basically I just love them. I particularly enjoy it when they meet their match in a mate. When they’re used to being Alpha, in charge all the time, and issuing orders, it’s nice to have someone stand up to them, and sometimes bring them to their knees by love alone. A big gruff Shifter being soft, sensual, and loving makes me all gooey inside, basically I’m a hopeless romantic. However, I also love my fight scenes and relish the times they have to dole out justice to the baddies. I write as much detail into those as I do any other and sometimes I get a wee bit carried away and have to go back and tone it down a bit. I have a tendency to be a little bit too gory at times, so I do have to amend it before publishing. All in all, I love Wolves because they give me the scope to do with them what I want, and that’s just the way I like it. Plus, they are hot! What’s a lassie not to like? Ava K Michaels is the Shade: A Wolf’s Hunger Alpha Shifter Romance. You can find out more about Ava here!

Image Four (Blurb) Will the cure be worse than the disease for Alpha, Shade Shawcross? Shade Shawcross is the proud Alpha of the Silver Lake Pack. Shade reluctantly agrees to embark on a search for the cure. The three friends scour the Pack’s newly digitized Archives, and all are shocked at what is revealed. Once his Wolf takes over, Shade is forced to succumb to the calling of the Goddess’ gift: his soulmate. With his mate on the run from her Alpha, Pack, and her father, Shade finds the path to his mate far from smooth. Add to the mix a trio of brothers seeking revenge against Shade for a slight against their scheming sister Shade once bedded. The situation becomes explosively dangerous. Cimmerian Shade: Ethereal Protector by Angelica Dawson @NaughtyNightsPR @ginakincade @angelicadawson #PNR

For your reading pleasure, we'll be featuring each author with a story of her choice for the next few weeks. Some will include interviews, and all will include excerpts. Today's featured author is Angelica Dawson.

1.   When did you start writing?
In Grade Six, as our final assignment, I outlined a three part play and wrote several chapter stories. I set the pen aside after University, though, and returned to it in 2010. Since then I haven’t taken more than a few months off.

2.   What makes your stories unique?
I like the flaws in my characters. There’s something to me that rings true when someone slurs their esses or eats sloppy or can’t seem to not drop things.

3.   Is there a common thread that runs through your books?
I have written in many genres and worlds, so I don’t know that there is one. Often they have Happy For Now endings. I believe stories don’t end, they just continue off the page.

4.   If money was of no concern, what would you envision as your perfect lifestyle? (where would you live, what would you do all day, etc.)
I’d love to live somewhere secluded with a good internet connection. That way I could enjoy wilderness and still feed my writing and reading goals.

5.   Besides writing, what things are you most passionate about?
I’m an environmental consultant, a botanist specifically, so I’m passionate about the damage we are doing to our world and how ecosystems and communities will be able to adapt. I’m also passionate about my daughter. She is my world most days.

Is her true love in her shadow?

Magic just became real for Paige Brown. Since she helped her roommate cast a spell, she has wanted to explore her new-found talent. Flashback to her ancestor give her clues, specifically to a love spell that she hopes will snag the professor she has been fantasizing about. Both Paige and her previous incarnation, Jane, fine that controlling magic is more than a simple recipe. Will Paige be able to break her own spell? Will she discover the love that is closer than she knows?

Summer dug in the garden, pulling weeds from desirable flowers and herbs. It was a slow and tedious task, but the sun warmed her arms and neck, prohibiting any ideas of going inside. Gwen and Paige were both on campus for differing reasons. Summer jealously held onto her weekends and refused to let anything from school invade them. Well, anything but the assignments that couldn’t be put off.
It still shocked her that she knew the names of so many of the plants. Her parents lived in an apartment, so they kept a few flowers in pots. Somehow she knew not only what each of the ones here were, but what Mary used them for. The dreams grew more vivid and detailed. She wouldn’t claim to be a witch, but she was glad to know a few teas, like chamomile, that helped to calm nerves and ease minds. Those would be very useful when she found a job.
Summer froze, her trowel still an inch above the bed. “How did you get out here?” she asked the air. There was no mistaking that presence. She still didn’t know who he had been, but after a month it seemed obvious to her that he was masculine. Something in his bearing, which she couldn’t see, and his stature gave the impression he was taller than her.
There was no answer, but a breeze rustled the leaves and the ghost sat next to her on the ledge.
“I refuse to be put off by you. You can haunt the house all you like. I’m not going anywhere. This is my family’s house. Who are you to haunt it anyway?”
It occurred to her that he might be a distant ancestor. Aunt Marge said no one had reported the house as haunted and that there was no record of a death in the house. Even Mary, tried as a witch, died in the square, not the house.
The ghost didn’t answer, but he did leave, not before touching her arm and making her shiver. Upstairs, washing the soil off her hands, he returned. It had become less oppressive all the time, and she was actually getting used to him, dammit.
She had the sense he was looking at her in the mirror. It felt like hands slipped around her waist, and she tipped her head to the side. Goosebumps flooded her skin and she could have sworn he kissed her neck. Shuddering, she leaned forward, gripping her vanity.
“Whoa. I don’t think I’m ready for a frisky ghost. Tell you what, you don’t do that again and I won’t try to push you away.”
There was no way of gauging his response, but he didn’t grab her again. Instead he brushed her hand, something she thought she could get used to in time.

Creatures: Mythical Creatures with Alex Owens @imaquirkygirl @ginakincade @inkmuse @naughtynightspr #PNR

ALEX OWENS

Creatures.jpg Image Two (Purchase Link)

Image Three (Blog Post) If you’d ask me to pick my favorite creature of myth a few years ago, the choice would have been an easy one. Witches, with their elemental powers born from the earth. They are conduits for nature’s awesome, and perfectly observable, raw magic. Witches are the closest thing we have to being possible, being real, in that regard. Now with the years creeping up on me, I’d go a different route. Vampires. They are immortal and at a time when getting myself out of bed each morning reveals a new ache or pain, I’d certainly appreciate the lack of cellular degeneration. Their lasting youthfulness could also fix what is wrong with my reflection in the mirror these days. Can’t you imagine it? No need to waste buckets of money on cosmetics, dental work, fad diets or medical expenses. That alone would have me greedily sucking down the nearest cup of platelets! While in my very own castle, of course. Alex Owens is the Author of Dark Destiny. You can find out more about Alex here!

Image Four (Blurb) Beylin Callaghan belongs to the Brotherhood, an elite band of crow-shifters. His job is to escort souls from one life to the next, while wiping their memories for a fresh start in a new life. But he's keeping a secret and her name is Pia. He's loved her for eons, but in this lifetime she doesn't remember him... yet. Cassiopeia "Pia" Alexander is floundering. Her love life is non-existent and her only joy is her job as an Animal ER Nurse. Rattled by her crazy dreams—they’re too real to be just her imagination—and being stalked by a big, black bird, well, those things aren’t helping either. Fate is tossing Beylin and Pia together once more… or is it something far more sinister?

Cimmerian Shade: Love Story of a Reaper by Elvira Bathory @ginakincade @ElviraBathory @NaughtyNightsPr #PNR

For your reading pleasure, we'll be featuring each author with a story of her choice for the next few weeks. Some will include interviews, and all will include excerpts. Today's featured author is Elvira Bathory.

1.   What makes your stories unique?
I try to take things that haven’t been written about much, for example my shifter stories have animals that haven’t been used before. I have made a WereFossa, WereServal-Genet, WereGharial just to name a few

2.   Is there a common thread that runs through your books?
The most common thread that runs through my books is the fact that I try to write about things, animals and myths that aren’t used or haven’t been used that often

3.   Besides writing, what things are you most passionate about?
I strongly believe in anti-bullying efforts and helping young people build self-esteem J

4.   Not limited to writing, what do you believe to be some of your greatest accomplishments so far?
I have helped raise some of the greatest little people that I have ever known. All five of my kiddos make me proud everyday

5.   Name a few of your favorites (colors, TV shows, movies, stars, songs, etc.)

My favorite color is green, my favorite TV Shows are: Charmed, The Vampire Diaries, The 100, Reign, The Originals, American Gods (just to name a few lol) and my all-time favorite movies are Labyrinth and Legend

What lengths would you go to prove yourself to your family?
What would you do if you found out that you weren’t like everyone else? That you were special but only in a way no one could find out about? What lengths would you go to prove yourself to your family? A family that you didn’t know you had?

Kymber was moving through life with a part-time minimum wage job and only a few friends. She was different from other people and they treated her that way. However, she was happy with her life until the day she met Kheelan; that is when her life was turned upside down. She finds out that she isn’t even human, and that a family she wasn’t aware she had needed her to complete a mission. As Kymber and Kheelan's adventure progresses, will their focus on business remain professional or will their growing passion take over?

As a show of good faith, I thought I would tell you what you really are. You’ve been feeling different than the people around you, right? Don’t have many, if any, friends? You keep to yourself; going to work and returning home, never going out on a girl’s night or even a date. You bring men home just to have them make excuses before entering the house or, if they’re brave enough to enter, you kick them out right after having sex. You live alone and people go to great lengths to avoid you whenever they can.

Would you like to know why that is? I can tell you. I know we’ve already made plans to meet after your shift however I felt you might like to know the answer to the question that burns brightest in your mind; If only to give you some time to prepare yourself, maybe jot down any questions you might have. I’m afraid this note will make you change your mind about meeting with me, but it’s a risk I’ll have to take. We’re both running out of time. It’s of the utmost urgency that you know ahead of time what you are, who you are, so this note will have to be the way that I lower that particular hammer.

I just pray to the Gods that I will still find you in the rear parking lot of the diner at seven this evening.
You’re Death, a Grim Reaper, Morrigana, your very name means Death and that’s why people avoid you. That’s why you’re always alone. Humans can sense the ‘otherness’ about you, even if they aren’t sure what is so off-putting, and that is why they give you wide berth.

Except there are other beings out in the world that can be around you; Hells, there are even some who would give their right nut to share your bed just for the thrill of being with Death and coming out alive on the other end. There are others still who would kill to be with you on your journeys; to see the world the way you see it.
I’ve said enough for now. As I said, time is of the essence and I wouldn’t blame you for not sticking around to keep our appointment, however I must insist that you meet me at your vehicle after your shift this evening so that we can discuss all of this in length and I can tell you why I’m here.

Kheelan

LAURA GREENWOOD

Creatures Box Set

I've loved mythology since I was really small, so much so that I'd buy books on Ancient Egypt (that was my absolute favourite mythology) with my pocket money. But picking just one creature is really tough! There are so many, and as a paranormal romance author, that gets all the harder! I've written about shifters, vampires, necromancers, dryads and sirens, not to mention the mermaid I'm writing with J & L Wells for this set! Which makes it really hard to pick.

So I'm going with Ammit, mostly in homage to my love of Ancient Egypt as a child. Ammit is an Ancient Egyptian demon who was part lion, part hippo and part crocodile, and she was also known as the devourer of the dead. Which sounds kind of ominous, but actually is really interesting. The Ancient Egyptians believed that when a person's soul traveled to the afterlife, their heart was weighed by Anubis (the God of Cemeteries & Embalming) against the feather of Ma'at (the Goddess of Truth). If the heart was heavier than the feather, then the soul had led a bad life, and Ammit devoured the heart, stopping that soul from reaching the afterlife.

Sorry, history lesson is now over! I find it all so fascinating that I can't help myself! Which is why I chose Ammit in the first place. The whole mythology is fascinating to me, and I'm planning to write a series based on the Ancient Egyptian Gods & Goddesses at some point...I don't think they get enough page time!

I hope you enjoy our Creatures box set! There's a fantastic collection of stories in it!
